I sat for a long while watching the Yellowstone River roar and foam through a complicated yellow light. The meaning of stillness and whispers vanished. Allowing all my senses to gather information, I prepared to capture a moment in time on paper. To express the river's movement and energy, I used a drybrush technique to show the turbulent water splashing against the rocks. In contrast, the cool, ever-green trees softly blend on wet paper.
